Our Editorial Standards & Medical Review Process

Look, I get it. When you’re pregnant, it’s way too easy to fall down a 3 AM Google rabbit hole about whether you can eat a specific type of cheese. At HomeBump Meals, we don’t do fad diets, and we definitely don’t do “trust me, bro” nutrition advice.

Every piece of content on this site is born from real-life pregnancy chaos, but it doesn’t get published until it’s been vetted for safety and accuracy by credentialed medical professionals.

How We Create & Review Content

👩‍🍳

1. Real-Life Development

I (Maya) develop every recipe and guide in my tiny kitchen, based on my lived experience with gestational diabetes, nausea, and postpartum recovery.

📚

2. Guideline Alignment

Drafts are cross-referenced with current, evidence-based guidelines from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the American Diabetes Association (ADA), and the FDA.

🩺

3. Clinical Review

Before publication, our content is reviewed by licensed Registered Dietitians specializing in maternal health to ensure absolute safety and nutritional accuracy.

Our Core Editorial Guidelines

  • Evidence-Based: All nutritional claims are backed by current guidelines from the ACOG, ADA, FDA, or CDC.
  • Transparent Sourcing: We link directly to primary medical sources so you can verify the information yourself.
  • No Judgment: We believe in meeting you where you are. If that means crackers for dinner, we’ve got a guide for that, too.
  • Regular Updates: Medical guidelines change. We review and update our core nutrition guides at least annually to ensure they remain current.
